I'm a legal medical marijuana patient in the state of Oregon (not for ocpd) and was wondering if others find relief with marijuana use? I'm much less compulsive, obsessive and others find me much less argumentative, critical and much easier to deal with.

My son uses it and feels like it is the only thing that totally relaxes him.

For the record, I enjoy him far more when he is clear headed.

My guys doesn't smoke it much (nor does he have a prescription, alas!) but he is MUCH mellower, kinder, more relaxed, and less critical when he's got a marijuana buzz on. I only wish I could get him to smoke it more often!

I am not fond of using stimuli or meds for controlling OCPD. I believe real change happens when the OCPDer battles his/her problems head on.

I'm with Morton. Never smoked MJ, but I do remember being more relaxed when I got drunk in my youth. Gave up drinking because I didn't like the sense of losing control. Go figure.

IMO, anything that works (whatever the situation is - not just OCPD) - whether it's prescription meds, marijuana, meditation, or petting a kitten - is worth a try. Frustrates me when people (not Morten or LJ) refuse to try something because "it sends the wrong message." If I ever have cancer or glaucoma, the ganja smoke is gonna be thick at my place! 8-)

Hey LovethatOCPDMan, you can get a medical card if your pinky hurts in SoCal, lol. I think depression is another, very easy to be legal in Cali.
